Boyueda TF100 Display Technical Guide

by huanglily 26 Oct 2026

The TF100 display is the scooter throttle instrument used on the BOYUEDA S3 and Q7 Pro configurations identified in the official TF100 Display Manual. It brings several pieces of riding information into one compact screen, including speed, battery level, gear, trip distance, total mileage, voltage, current, running time, headlight status, cruise-control status, start mode, and fault warnings. This guide explains what the display shows, how to use its buttons, what the documented parameter menu contains, and how to approach a fault indication without guessing at a repair.

Important compatibility note: BOYUEDA’s TF100 manual currently identifies the supported models as S3 and Q7 Pro and says the manual is for reference. This article uses the shorter model name S3 for consistency with the store’s naming convention. Before applying a procedure, compare the display and controls on your scooter with the manual supplied for that exact unit. Do not assume these instructions apply to the LY 810 display or to another scooter simply because its dashboard looks similar.

Identify the TF100 Display

The official specification lists the TF100 instrument as 128.06 mm long, 33.55 mm wide, 10.78 mm high, and 28 g in weight. The listed communication protocol is UART. The manual says the screen presents its startup information, including the software version number, within one second of power-on.

The screen is divided into areas for speed, gear, battery level, warning status, and a multifunction readout. The multifunction area can show total mileage (ODO), single-trip mileage (TRIP), real-time voltage (V), operating current (A), running time (TIME), and a fault code (E). Other icons indicate the headlight, cruise control, start mode, and USB output status.

1. Understanding the Main Display Areas

Speed and units

The speed area can display miles or km/h. According to the manual, the speed signal comes from the Hall sensor inside the motor and is sent to the instrument through the controller. The instrument calculates speed using wheel diameter and signal data; the motor’s magnetic-pole count must also be set. For that reason, an incorrect wheel-diameter or magnet-count parameter can affect the displayed speed. Do not change these technical settings just to experiment. If the speed reading appears inaccurate, confirm the correct values for your scooter with BOYUEDA support.

Battery level indicator

The POWER bar indicates battery status. Treat it as a riding reference, not a precision battery-capacity measurement. Battery indication can change under load, and the displayed level alone does not confirm battery health. If the scooter shows a low-voltage warning, loses power unexpectedly, or behaves differently from normal, stop in a safe place and investigate before continuing.

Multifunction readout

The ON/OFF button cycles through the documented information screens, including ODO, TRIP, voltage, fault code, current, Hall value, and running time. ODO represents accumulated distance; TRIP is for a single trip. Voltage and current are electrical readings, while TIME shows running time. If you are checking a fault, make a note of the exact display value before switching screens so you can report it accurately.

Gear, headlight, cruise control, and start mode

A short press of MODE cycles through the available gears. The manual states that a higher gear corresponds to a higher speed. A long press of MODE controls the headlight on or off. The display also has indicators for cruise control and start mode. NON indicates non-zero start; ZERO indicates zero start. The active indicator tells you which mode is selected, but it does not replace the need to understand how the scooter responds before riding.

Practice button operations while the scooter is stationary. Do not look down to navigate menus while moving. If your unit’s buttons or screen behavior do not match this table, stop and check the manual for your exact display version rather than trying combinations repeatedly.

3. Parameter Menu: What P01–P20 Mean

The TF100 manual lists the following parameter definitions. These labels describe what each setting controls; they are not a recommendation to change the values. Some settings affect speed calculation, current limits, start behavior, or other operating characteristics. Incorrect values can cause the display or scooter to behave unexpectedly.

Parameter

Shown as empty in the manual’s parameter-definition table

The parameter-value table on the official page includes example/default values, but the correct value can depend on the scooter configuration. Do not copy values from another model or change voltage, current, speed limit, wheel diameter, magnet count, or under-voltage settings without confirmation from BOYUEDA. The manual also states that ODO can be reset by long-pressing MODE in the ODO parameter-setting interface. Because resetting ODO changes the accumulated-distance record, do not perform this action unless you intentionally want to reset it and understand the consequence.

4. Reading Fault Codes

When the fault symbol appears, the TF100 manual instructs the rider to briefly press ON/OFF to switch to the E interface. The number shown there identifies the fault category in the manual’s list. Record the displayed code and any symptoms, such as loss of drive, braking changes, or intermittent power. A code is a diagnostic clue, not proof that a particular part should immediately be replaced.

Code shown in manual

Meaning listed by BOYUEDA

ERROR 1

Motor Hall sensor fault

ERROR 2

Brake fault

ERROR 3

No fault

ERROR 4

No fault

ERROR 5

No fault

ERROR 6

Under-voltage fault

ERROR 7

Motor phase-line fault

ERROR 8

Torque fault

ERROR 9

Controller fault

ERROR 10

Signal reception fault

ERROR 11

Signal transmission fault

The manual explicitly labels ERROR 3, ERROR 4, and ERROR 5 as “No fault.” Do not reinterpret these entries or assume they mean a specific component has failed. If one of these numbers appears alongside a warning symbol or abnormal behavior, photograph the display and ask BOYUEDA support to confirm the interpretation for your unit.

For any warning associated with braking, motor signals, torque, controller operation, or communication, stop riding if the scooter feels unsafe, loses power, accelerates unpredictably, or does not respond normally. Turn the scooter off when it is safe to do so. Avoid opening the battery or controller enclosure or disconnecting electrical components while powered. Provide support with the model, display type, code, symptoms, and a clear photo or short video.

5. Cruise Control and USB Indicator

The manual says cruise control can activate after the motor has started and the throttle has been held for about eight seconds. When the cruise-control symbol activates, the motor maintains the current speed after the throttle is released. Braking or adjusting the throttle again cancels cruise control. Because the scooter may continue moving without throttle input, use this feature only where permitted and when the road, visibility, and traffic conditions make it safe. Do not test it in crowded areas or on unfamiliar terrain.

The TF100 display also includes a USB charging icon. The manual states that the icon lights when a data cable is connected to the USB port and draws more than 100 mA. A flashing icon indicates intermittent charging or a load current above 1,000 mA, after which the USB port automatically enters protection mode. If charging is intermittent, disconnect the device and inspect the cable and connected load. Do not force a connector or assume the USB port is designed to supply every phone or accessory.

6. Common Questions

Why does my TF100 show miles instead of km/h?

The manual identifies P02 as the unit setting. Confirm the correct procedure for your display version before changing it. The official BOYUEDA tutorial for the S3 and Q7 Pro describes a specific key sequence; do not assume that sequence applies to every display or software version.

Can I change the speed limit in the TF100 menu?

P08 is identified as the speed-limit setting. The correct value may be affected by local laws and the scooter configuration. Do not change it to bypass legal restrictions or factory safety settings. Follow the applicable model instructions and local regulations.

Why might the speed reading be inaccurate?

The manual says speed is calculated using wheel diameter and signal data, including the motor magnetic-pole count. If the displayed speed seems wrong, confirm these settings with BOYUEDA rather than guessing at values.

What should I do if an error code appears?

Switch to the E interface using a short press of ON/OFF, record the number, and note any symptoms. Stop riding if braking, power delivery, or control feels abnormal, then contact BOYUEDA support with the details.

Does the TF100 manual apply to every Boyueda scooter?

No. The official manual currently identifies S3-11 and Q7 Pro as the applicable models. Other models may use a different display, such as LY 810. Check the actual display and model-specific manual before following a procedure.

Final Check Before You Ride

Before riding, confirm that the display starts normally, the battery indicator is visible, the selected gear is appropriate, the headlight works when needed, and the brakes respond correctly. Make sure the handlebar and folding mechanism are secure, and do not ride with an unresolved fault that affects control, braking, or motor operation. Learn the display functions while parked so you do not need to navigate menus on the move.

For model-specific instructions, use the official TF100 Display Manual and the owner’s manual supplied with your scooter. If the displayed menu, code, or wiring does not match the published material, do not guess. Send BOYUEDA support a photo of the screen and the scooter’s model details to confirm the correct procedure.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
